Sugar Rush!!!

I like to surprise Kolton with a treat for no reason! Today we enjoyed ice cream! What’s better then an ice cream cone on a warm summer day? I think he liked it a little… I'm not scared to give my kiddo a little sugar!

Here's the proof:

A is for...

I am thinking about putting together an ABC book for Kolton. I have never done anything like that before, so I am just playing around with it. Let me know if you have any ideas!!

A monkey and a tooth brush

I know you have probably been wondering how many teeth Kolt has...he has 12 big teeth in that little bitty mouth! (and 4 of those teeth are molars!) He has really done well with teething. It hasn't been as horrible as I thought it would be. I am always hearing scary stories! I have been teaching him to brush his teeth twice a day and I have to brag because he is doing a great job! Brandon, Kolt and I brush our teeth together in the mornings and I think that has helped with getting him to want to do it! Our pediatrician told us that he needs to go to the Dentist before he turns two. I can't imagine how they will get him to sit still or what they will do! I will let you know how that goes!

Here are a few pics of my little monkey brushing his pearly whites!

Is it Friday yet?!

Kolton has been very busy around the house lately. He has learned to use the mop to push the water nozzle on the fridge and he has learned to climb on to the rocking chair to reach whatever is on the counter behind it! And every time I turn my back for a second he has climbed on a new piece of furniture and is dancing! I have my hands full with this little monkey. Also, he is down to one nap a day. That means that I have lost an hour of peace and quiet!! But, I have to admit he sure knows how to help Daddy work in the yard!

Blogging My Blessings

I am thankful for the health of my family. Brandon and I are healthy and we have been blessed with a healthy son. I get upset if I don’t think he ate enough or if his diapers look a little funny or if he is a little crankier then usual. But his health is a gift from God!!

I am thankful for Kolton. He has a way of making me feel loved with out saying a word. Just looking into his eyes makes me want to be the best person I can be!

I am thankful that I am a Stay at Home Mom. I think that this is one of the hardest jobs but I know that it is the most rewarding job. I can’t imagine doing anything else.

I am thankful that Brandon is a motivated, determined and hardworking man. He works more hours then most and never complains. He comes home in good spirits and excited to play with his son. I wouldn’t be a Stay at Home Mom if he wasn’t such a dedicated family man.

I am thankful for my growth as a woman.

I am thankful for our future. I don’t know what it holds but I pray every night and I have handed it over to God. I know it will be great!!

Family Night... Monster Truck Style!!

We decided to get in touch with our inner redneck!! We actually had a great time dancing to the music, eating cold pizza and making new friends! We couldn't wait for the "Big Trucks". But, when the show started Kolt was terrified of the loudness of the trucks! He was shaking like a leaf. So we decided to go home and watch wrestling! It's official: We are Redneck!

We will try again when he is a little older!!

Sweet little Stellan

A while back I came across a BLOG that has really kept my attention. I check it every morning and I find myself thinking about the family quite often.

The mom is a great photographer and has three beautiful children. The youngest while in the womb was diagnosed with heart failure from Supraventricular Techycardia, hydrops and heartblock. When she 24 weeks she was told that her son would surely die. They chose to give there son over completely to God who surprised them with a miraculous recovery! There son was born healthy! But, at 4 months he started to suffer from heart problems again and was diagnosed with a hole in his heart. They are not sure what the future holds, maybe more surgeries or a pace maker.

Check out her BLOG and keep this sweet little boy in your prayers!

Who gave this kid a bat!?

The "Terrible Twos" has become a fearfully familiar term in the dictionary of parenthood, along with "temper tantrums" and "teething". Any time I mention one of these phrases to another mom I know that she will instantly understand exactly what I am talking about!

I do have to admit as hard as it is I LOVE this age! I keep reminding myself that his tantrums are born out of frustration. He knows what he likes and he knows what he wants but we don't always understand him.

I have learned that laughing at the situations has been the best remedy. This morning he splashed so much water out of the bath tub that it looked like there was a flood in the bathroom... I just laughed, I found the humor in the mess that was made…it‘s just water!

I am learning to understand his frustration and put mine aside!

The terrible twos are a little terrible and a lot terrific!

It's almost Friday!!
