My little monkey is...

ONE!!! I can not believe that Kolton is ONE!!!! People have told me over and over and over to enjoy every second because they will grow up fast. I didn't listen because I thought it was just a silly cliche saying! I spent all of March 26th sad, excited, happy, shocked, etc. because my baby is not my baby anymore... and everyone was right!!! But... I have enjoyed EVERY second and I know there are many more to come!

It is amazing that exactly one year ago I was looking into my baby's eyes thinking, I hope he doesn't know that I have absolutely no idea what I am doing!!!

On his birthday we had a mini party at Parent's Day Out. We brought breakfast and celebrated with his teachers and friends. When dad got home we had dinner at Chuck E. Cheese! We ate pizza, drank coke and played all the games!! When we got home we ate cake and opened presents.... so much fun! There will be lots more fun to come this weekend!

I couldn't resist...!!!!!

Ten tiny fingers that always want to play
That never stop exploring the wonder of today
Ten tiny fingers that from the very start
Will reach out for tomorrow, yet aways hold your heart.

Should be sleeping

It is late and I can not sleep!!! So why not BLOG!? I hope it makes sense!

I finally had a second to make Kolton's birthday invite! It is unique, and I love it!! I know that I should have made it earlier, but I have been so busy the past few days! Now I need to address all the envelopes.... yuck!

I am still editing wedding pictures, I should be done tomorrow! YAY!

We are having a garage sale on Saturday... I am so excited to get rid of all of our clutter, but I am not looking forward to organizing and pricing everything!!

I need to lose weight!! I have been wanting to work out lately, but I am not sure if a gym membership is for me. I try to walk everyday, but I do not always get around to it. I am thinking about buying a Wii Fit. What do you think? I have heard lots of mixed feed back.

Now it is off to bed!

Mommy and Me Day

The wedding I shot on Saturday was wonderful! I had so much fun meeting the wedding party, family and friends! The bride and groom had a little boy Kolton's age. He was so adorable in his little tux, it made me miss my little one! The flower girls were cute, and loved the camera! They would run up to me and pose! They were great models! I edited about half the pics last night and I will try to finish the rest tonight when Kolt goes to sleep. I will try to post a few of my favorites tonight or tomorrow.

Kolton and I had a great Mommy and Me day! Friday, we went to lunch and then spent a few hours at the Science Spectrum. We had so much fun! Here are a few pictures from our day.

Ideas Ideas Ideas

I feel like I have a million ideas running around in my head, so here are a few!!

I am working on a "Your SPECIAL Session Questionnaire". When you schedule a session I will email you a questionnaire. The questionnaire will consist of simple questions so that I can get to know you and what you are wanting/needing in your photo session. Should be helpful!

I am going to set up a personal gallery after every shoot. This will give you, family and friends an opportunity to order prints.

I am going to add a few more packages to my list. The more the better! Right?!

I will have Holiday Specials on the website this week.

ALBUMS, ALBUMS, ALBUMS.... they will be coming soon!

Those are just a few things that I have been contemplating.... Let me know what you think!

A little about the fam:

Kolton and I got all dressed up in our green to celebrate St. Patty's Day! Brandon was bartending for charity at Buffalo Wild Wings! All of his tips went to MDA! Kolton and I went to visit Brandon and support a great cause! Also, we ate lots of good food and chocolate cake! YUM!

Kolton and I have joined a Mommy and Me class on Fridays. We will be going for the first time this Friday. I think we do arts and crafts, sing songs and just play! Sounds fun! I will let you how it goes.

Mommy and Daddy to be- Chris and Brandi

I had the opportunity to photograph a wonderful couple on Saturday! Chris and Brandi are expecting their first little one! I had a great time taking pictures as well as just chatting! I also got to visit their nursery. The nursery was beautiful and decorated perfectly! I can not wait to meet the little angel!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the shoot!

Life...

As I was spending time with my family today I realized how much Kolton has taught us! It is amazing that he has not been with us an entire year, yet we have learned more then we could have ever imagined!!!

I have learned that I have more blessings then I could ever count!

I have learned not to sweat the small stuff....

I have learned to see the beauty in EVERYTHING!

I have learned to give others a break. We are all fighting our own battles.

I have learned that love is a commitment to growth...

I have learned that hugs and kisses can make a bad day good!

I have learned to have faith!!

I have learned that laughter is very IMPORTANT!

I have learned that it is important to forgive and forget... and actually do both!

I have learned to always follow your heart.

I have learned that no matter how much you worry, destiny is already written. So don't stress yourself out over things you can not change.

I have learned that everything is a miracle. Every tree, every person, every rock, every child, every animal, every flower, every cloud.... EVERYTHING!!

I have learned to look deeper into people to see their true spirit, what drives them and who they truly are.

I have learned to always be yourself, don't let situations or people change you.

I have learned that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

I have learned to PRAY! Help is as close as a prayer.

I have learned that open minds are healthy minds.

I have learned that it is not about what you have in life... it is about WHO you have!

I have learned to stand up for what I believe in.... no matter what it takes!

I have learned that the best sound in the entire world is a child's laughter!

I have learned that when I am angry, I have the right to be angry....but not the right to be cruel!

I have learned that you can keep going long after you think you can't!

I have learned to always believe in yourself!

I have learned to view the world a little more like my son.... everything is a new and amazing adventure!!!

Just a little Friday update

Kolton is almost 1 year old! He turns 1 on the 26th! It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital with him! I am not sure how I feel about all of it! I love watching him walk, but I miss holding him like a baby! He no longer drinks formula and will not touch baby food! He likes apple juice, pizza, chicken nuggets and french fries! His new favorite activity is playing catch with daddy! (I have to brag...he is very GOOD!!) I am in the process of getting everything ready for his birthday party! I am taking his 1 year old pictures on Sunday, ordered the cakes and planned the menu! I read a great quote yesterday that I absolutely loved:

"Having a child- it's momentous. It is to forever have your heart walking around outside your body."
Elizabeth Stone

I am taking his birthday pictures on Sunday.... should be extra messy and FUN! I am not going to post the pics yet because they will be on the invite!

I am looking forward to my maternity session this weekend. I know that the couple is super excited about there little boy! I have known the daddy to be for years and he has a great personality and a great heart to match. The mommy to be is very sweet and very beautiful. I can not wait to meet little Baylor.

I am really really excited because I have a wedding the following weekend. I know that they have been working hard to get everything ready and I can not wait to see all the detail! I am EXCITED to be photographing their special day!!

Happy Friday the 13th!

Here are a few pictures of my little man!

Our Orlando Vacay was....

AMAZING! Brandon had a business convention in Orlando, so we decided to make it into a family vacation! We had the best time! I was not ready to come home. It seems so quiet at the house, there are no Disney characters, parades, waterfalls or swimming pools!! I want to say THANK YOU to my mom and dad for going with us! I could not have done it without them! I am blessed to have such a wonderful and fun family! While Brandon was busy with meetings, Mom, Dad, Kolton and I would go play all day at Disney World. Words can not explain how much fun Kolton had. Watching his eyes light up when the characters would come over to him and seeing a permanent smile on his face has to be the best feeling a Mom can have!! Here are a few of the 900 pictures I took!!

Our hotel was GINORMAS!! We stayed at the Marriott World Center. I have never stayed in a hotel that big! It was beautiful!

Our hotel had 4 pools.... so of course we had to have a pool day. Kolton made two girl friends! (I am going to be in trouble!)

I was worried about the plane ride. I was not sure how Kolton would act or if his ears would pop.... but, he did great! I was very impressed with Southwest. Every employee was extremely nice and helpful! The pilot even showed him how to fly the plane!! Maybe he will grow up to be a pilot!!

Now it is time to get back to reality.... BLAH!!!
