Easy home made Empanda Recipe

This recipe is quick, easy and you can even make them ahead of time and cook them later!

Chopped onion
Ground beef
Chopped garlic
Salt
Pepper
Grated Monterey Jack cheese
Flour Tortilla mix
Taco seasoning packet
Beans (Kidney or Refried, whatever you like!)

1. Brown ground beef with chopped onion, salt, pepper, chopped garlic and taco seasoning. Cook until beef is brown. (If you would like it spicy add a little cayenne, chopped green chilis or rotel)

2. Follow flour tortilla dough recipe and then roll out dough to desired thickness. Cut dough into circles. I used a drinking glass to cut dough into perfect circles.

3. Fill dough with cheese, beef, beans and roll it over. Use a fork to press down and seal the end. Cut a small slit in the empanada before cooking.

4. You can bake or fry the empanadas. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes or until golden brown OR Fry until golden brown.

*I like to serve them with guacamole, hot sauce and queso.

What is great about this recipe is that you can put anything in the empanada! You can make them for breakfast with egg, bacon and cheese!
